ACT Regulations by State

After the California Air Resources Board (CARB) adopted the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) and Heavy-Duty Omnibus (Omnibus) regulations, ten other states adopted the same regulations, mandating electric truck sales and emission reductions. That was then, not now.

Today, a movement to delay the regulations has expanded from California to ten other states — and the Safe Roads Coalition is pleased to report that several states have concluded that the rules are not economically or technologically feasible and have chosen to postpone the regulations.

Status of Regulations in All States

Other states only have to look to California to see that the regulations are not working as intended. They are not economically or technologically feasible. Heavy-duty electric trucks are not being mass-produced, and inventories of combustion engines have declined in California by over 80%.

No more tow and recovery trucks will be built or sold in California in the coming months. Other states are facing similar threats to small businesses and jobs.

This is why Miller Industries, Inc., the nation’s leading manufacturer of tow bodies, is leading the charge to exempt towing and recovery trucks from the rules. We hope this website is helpful for members of America’s towing industry concerned about the impact CARB’s regulations will have on their businesses and employees. Remember, states that adopted CARB’s regulations are required to follow them.

So, what is happening in California is coming to your state soon – if it has not already.

We can support the safety of America’s motoring public by protecting towing and recovery truck businesses. Join the Safe Roads Coalition today!
